Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

tumblr_krz99dZfkp1qz6f9yo1_r1_500 While working on calendar skills and social questions, I composed a song to work on both.  I isolated three days on the calendar, to work on labeling yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  I found that isolating these three days helped students learn the concept faster.  I created a simple board to use as a visual support, with the words yesterday, today, and tomorrow on the bottom and then a blank box above each work.  By laminating the sheet, I could reuse the board. Then, to work on creating social questions related to the 3 days, I created cards for the following sentences.  One card for each word in the sentence: What did you do yesterday? What did you do today? What are you doing tomorrow? I would give a student a five card packet, and have them put the sentence in the correct order.  I provided music support as needed, maybe singing the sentence before they attempted to put the words in order.
